Paperwork was flying back and forth between Cathwel, JOH, and Us. We were told that they would be moving Leanna from her current orphanage to Jonah House to be evaluated medically then they would begin preparing her to travel. They told us that she showed "strong stranger anxiety" and for us to be prepared to spend the day at Jonah House to help her get used to us. They allowed us to send her a care package and asked that we send a video of us and give her a tour of our home. We also sent more photo's for them to share with her.
We learned that they had moved her to Jonah House around March 12th and discovered that she had a skin condition that they wanted to get cleared up before they let us come and get her. We were told that we could come at any time after March 28th. While standing in the airport waiting to board a plane on April 2nd, we received a phone call from JOH saying that it was too soon and they had not been able to get the "temporary guardian" papers signed in order for us to be able to take her. We left the airport devastated and not knowing when we would be allowed to travel. Four days later we were told that the paperwork was complete and that we could go and get her. We left Okinawa on April 8th in preparation for meeting her on the 9th.
