February 23, 2011....School picture day

A week ago I got a phone call from Leanna's school asking if I would help the photographer on "Spring picture day" and of course, I was happy to help. Except that this was the first that I knew of "Spring picture day" and Leanna really did not have anything new and springy that I wanted her to wear for school photo's. Therefore, awesome excuse to shop but there really is not a good children's clothing store close by. The closest is about an hour away and I really did not have a free day for shopping. So I dug throught some fabrics that I had bought that were screaming "make some of those really cute ruffled pants out of me", then found a cute, plain, white jacket at W-Mart, and took that to the local embroidery place and had it embellished. I think that it turned out pretty cute and Leanna loved that Mommy had made it special just for her! Now, I wonder what that outfit is going to look like after her art class this afternoon (I think that they are painting today).

February 20, 2011.....photo's from the week

I took big brother to get a haircut this week (and he begged me not to take a photo, so I did not) and someone decided that she also needed a trim, so the princess got a haircut at the barber shop.

Leanna and I played with a photo editing program on the computer, and these were the decorations/frames in the program that she chose. I thought that it turned out pretty cute!

February 14, 2011....Valentine's Day

Before School

The only part of the kindergarten Valentine's party that I got to see - food! Her teacher (who we really love) decided that it would be easier for the kids to exchange cards earlier in the day. So, I have no photo's of the exchange.

Trying out some of her candy - I do believe that the little sticks that you dip in the messy powder (that is all over my kitchen now) was her favorite!

February 13, 2011....Birthdays at Hard Rock Cafe

Yes, Leanna was very mad at her Dad and was giving him the evil eye for making her sit down.

Today we met both grandmothers in Nashville at Hard Rock Cafe to celebrate their birthdays. Aunt Jana and Uncle Jason also joined us, along with cousins Hannah and Allie. Allie showed us her new earrings as she had just had them pierced the day before. So, this was my prime opportunity to try to persuade Leanna AGAIN to get her ears pierced. Finally (because I have been begging her to do it) she caved. She almost backed out at the last minute but we got the ladies at "Claires" to move quickly and had them do both ears at the same time. Leanna chose Hello Kitty earrings and they are adorable. She was so hyper once it was done, we were not able to get a good photo until she fell asleep.

February 9, 2011....All better and back at school

After 3 days of staying home and inside, my girl was ready to go back to school today. I tried really hard to get a photo of her on her way into school, but she refused to turn around and let me take her photo. I did take a photo of her backside as she walked away but all you can really see is her coat. Maybe I will just have to be sneeky and take that photo upon her exit from school.

Success! Got a smiling photo of her coming to the car!

February 7, 2011.......Sicky baby

This poor little baby feels yucky! It started yesterday with a slight fever and a sore throat. No school for her today and snuggled up in bed and watching cartoons. We have snuggled and did pretend baby play with her sippy cup as a bottle. She loves to pretend to be a baby and let me fuss over her!

January 28th...and the winner is.....

Leanna was chosen as the winner of the "John M. Templeton Laws of Life Contest". This award is given out by her kindergarten teacher to one student every six weeks. Leanna's award was for the demonstration of "Diligence". She received a certificate, a pencil, a ruler, and a free pizza and drink. She was so excited and we had to go as soon as school was out to get her pizza. She even shared it with her brother!

January 2011......Snow, Snow, go away!!!!

Ok, the white stuff is pretty, when it happens a couple of times a year. But nine inches and our third time this winter is enough!!! They had fun playing in it and I took photo's through the window where it was nice and warm!
